As I began this eportfolio, I thought, hmmm..could I really have enough work to put in it?
Well, I was able to fill the pages. Is it exceptional? Am I at true north? No and no but sitll working on it.
This portfolio will show my growth throughout the three weeks this summer working with my community of thinkers mucking about and teasing out ideas until we reach our own perspectives. The wonderful part is that we may not all have the same perspectives and we may not all reach our true north at the same time and that is fine.
I have accomplished several things this summer. First of all, continuing to work with a MATSL group and sharing in our community of practice as always is enlightening. In the beginning of the three weeks, I felt that I had a better understanding of what the MATSL Program was about. As we mucked about last year and worked with our community of practice or our community of thinkers, we helped eachother reach or create a different perspective of what we were learning because of the different perspectives we all had as we began. This year, being in my second year there is more clarity I am reaching as the days go by. Is it bad that I can't remember quotes or who said what? Maybe I just need to be pleased with the fact that I see the concepts. They are difficult to put into words and it does take a while for me to do so but I understand them. Maybe this is how some of my students feel about the concepts I teach them. For them to Vocalize the words in Spanish may take a little longer for some. Could this be my true north? There is still a full year and capstone to reach it but I am ready and willing to learn more.
